BGVBR Classic Velcro Glove Brown & Black

Context: I’ve been training Muay Thai 4-5 days a week for 2 years. This is my fourth pair of gloves. These are my first pair of Boons, these are my first impressions.

The hand box is smaller than yokkao, which I like.I spent a few days manually kneading the gloves to accelerate the break-in period. They open and close pretty easily so far, I imagine they will continue to get more and more flexible. My stance is pretty open handed so this is a huge plus. The finishing touches on the gloves are beautiful. The leather is high quality and pops on the bag - I’m really happy with the POP. Makes me sound stronger than I am, and looking cool is the only reason to train.

So far, I’m really enjoying this glove. They also include some swag in the box, which is a thoughtful touch.

These truly are great gloves. I have quite large hands, the gloves have a snug, but very comfortable fit. The cuff is very firm and lightly padded. The general padding has medium firmness, which I really like. Many competitors have very soft padding, which I do not like for pad work - the boons are better in that regard. Still, the Boons 16oz+ are also very suitable for sparring and are a true Allrounder. I love them! Note that I am a very Boxing-heavy person, if you are mostly doing Thaiboxing, you may have a different experience, since the cuffs are quite long and not as flexible as others. This is a “pro” for me, but may be a “con” to you. The only thing that could be better is probably the inner lining, since I sweat quite strongly in the gloves - more than I do in my other gloves. This might also come from the more snug fit, I’m not sure. But since I make sure to air them out after each use, I do not think this is a huge deal.
When you buy it internationally, keep in mind that you have to pay the import tax yourself on top of shipping. For me (Germany) that was 32.50€. Including shipping and taxes, I paid approximately 160€, which I find appropriate for the outstanding quality.

This is my third consecutive pair of Boons, and I don't think I'll ever change. After shopping around quite a bit, I think these gloves are just as good as gloves you'd pay twice as much for. I definitely prefer wearing my Boons over my $250 pair of Everlasts.

The leather feels amazing, the fit and feel are perfect. My last two pairs lasted about two years each with hard daily use, so I know they'll hold up.
